Synergy

Our high strength Olive Leaf Extract is processed from freshly picked leaves and along with the scores of natural plant nutrients and the main antioxidant known as oleuropein, this unique fresh leaf extract contains at least 11 other important phenolic antioxidants. The balanced synergy of all the active olive leaf compounds working together gives our globally unique extract its effective healing power.

It is sometimes awkwardly surprising to find how simply, yet effectively, nature has combined her healing molecules. In a technological age where we try to isolate, purify and distill what we believe to be ‘the’ most effective compounds, Olive Leaf Australia has been led back to the source.

Olive Leaf Australia Pty Ltd commenced its product development with a goal of creating ‘an Olive Leaf Extract with a very high oleuropein level’ – and succeeded. But time and experience showed that the resultant extract was bio-effective, not solely because of its high oleuropein levels, but primarily for its synergy of at least 24 naturally occurring polyphenolic antioxidants.

This led to further product development, to ensure the very highest presence and synergy of the full range of polyphenolic antioxidants and other healing compounds.

Whilst some products boast of high levels of oleuropein, or hydroxytyrosol, or caffeic acid or tyrosol, Olive Leaf Australia’s Extract is a 100% natural and synergistic source of all of these, and many more.

‘Synergy’ is the heart of Olive Leaf Australia’s Extract and it comes from 30 years of experience working with Olea europaea cultivars from around the world. The 48 proprietary steps from selection of the mother trees, through the growing, harvesting, processing and packaging of the supplements all combine to ensure a synergistic balance of more than 100 natural compounds – a synergy which is scientifically studied and supported:

“It may be that combinations of nutrients found in foods have greater protective effects than each nutrient taken alone.” (Dr Guohua Cao, the physician and chemist who developed the ORAC assay at the National Institute of Aging in 1992.)1

“‘It is of significance that olive leaf extract had an antioxidant activity higher than Vitamin C and E, due to the synergy between flavonoids, oleuropeosides and substituted phenols.2”

“… olive phenolics show a synergic behaviour in their radical scavenging capacity when mixed, as occurs in olive leaf extract.3 “
“Olea europaea leaf extracts ensured an inhibition effect ca. 20-30% longer than oleuropein. Thus the occurrence of the other 3,4-dihydroxyphenethyl esters and of flavonoids improved the antioxidant properties of the Olea europaea extract.4”
